Burnet volleyball beats Lago Vista in four sets to earn first district win
The Burnet High School volleyball team began the District 24-4A campaign with a 25-16, 24-26, 25-20, 25-18 win at Lago Vista Sept. 23.
“It was a game of back and forth with scrappy defenses on both sides,” head coach Crystal Shipley said. “This was a big win for our girls.”
Burnet’s junior varsity and freshman squads also earned dominating victories against Lago Vista, Shipley added.
“They continue to get better and shut teams down,” she said. “It’s so exciting to see the depth our program has.”
Burnet welcomes Lampasas Tuesday, Sept. 27, to The Doghouse, 1000 The Green Mile. The subvarsities play at 5 p.m. and the varsity follows around 6 p.m.
